THIS MESSAGE (MATERIAL) IS CREATED AND (OR) DISTRIBUTED BY A FOREIGN MASS MEDIA PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT AND (OR) A RUSSIAN LEGAL ENTITY PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT.

The last winter month began with news about the largest wave of coronavirus infection in Russia. This difficult time continues, and it is so important to take care not only of your own health, but also of the health of those around you. Remember to wear masks and gloves, and stay home at the first symptoms. Rosbalt wishes everyone good health and offers a selection of ideas for the coming week.

Exhibition “30 years ago the 90s began”

Until March 13 at the Department of Prints of the National Library of Russia you can plunge into the nineties. Probably, this will scare you by heart, but there is no reason to worry: you will see only the interesting and best part of those difficult years.

The exhibition shows advertising posters of the 1990s, which could once be found in shops, clubs, cinemas and just on the streets. All of these posters immerse visitors in the atmosphere of that controversial period, and each banner with the inscription tells its own story.

Some posters are made in accordance with the classical canons of the Soviet school, others gravitate towards kitsch. But together they are a reflection of the era and popular culture that people lived 30 years ago.

Those who lived in the nineties will certainly experience nostalgia. And those who were born later will be able to plunge into the past and see how life has changed during this time.

There is a saying that the eyes are the mirror of the soul. Indeed, the eyes can tell more about a person than himself. And facial expressions sometimes say much more. Experienced psychologists know how to recognize the true feelings of a person by the face: the sparkle of the eyes, the smile, the facial expression.

This and much more was noticed and captured by the sixties and contemporary artists and photographers.

The exhibition “Faces / faces / muzzles” is a parade of non-formal portraits, where each of the works can tell so much.

More than 90 works by Dmitry Plavinsky, Boris Sveshnikov, Vladimir Nemukhin, Ivan Lubennikov, Mikhail Shemyakin, Natalia Turnova and other artists are waiting for you.

The exposition was created in honor of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Anatoly Zverev.

You can place the exhibition in the Marble Palace.

Author’s audio tour “Literary Petersburg: from Mayakovsky to Dovlatov”

Last week we told you about an unusual tour of St. Petersburg along the Raskolnikov route. And this time we offer to visit the author’s audio tour of literary St. Petersburg.

Yes, no matter how much you walk around, it is not easy to get around all the literary places in St. Petersburg. Each alley, bridge and courtyard tells us unusual stories that happened both in reality and on the pages of books. It is difficult to capture all writers and poets in one excursion, so we suggest you start “from the end” – that is, from Russian literature of the last century. This tour will tell you about the period from Mayakovsky to Dovlatov.

Don’t worry – this tour will definitely not seem boring to you. Do you remember how the excursions were before? The guide led you around the city and, stopping at each house, told you the legends and stories of these places. However, the world does not stand still and technology is changing even those areas that, it would seem, have become classics. This time you will walk around the city in the telegram bot format. In the context of the coronavirus, such online tours are the right solution!

This tour in an unusual format was prepared for you by Lisa and Natasha from bigcity.art. They created a special literary route, as well as a telegram bot that will accompany you during your trip and share audio recordings, maps with navigation, as well as photos and comments from the authors.

Don’t forget to charge your phone before going out. You can buy a tour on the website. It is noteworthy that, having bought access to the tour once, you can use it later indefinitely at any time.

Game days at Third Place

Over the past twenty years, people’s leisure time has changed quite a lot. With the development of technology, some things have simply lost their relevance, and some, on the contrary, have gained. This also applies to hobbies.

Now, instead of reading newspapers, people check the news on the Internet, instead of paper letters, they correspond in instant messengers, and board games have been replaced by virtual ones.

If you think that computer and mobile games are only for children, then we can dissuade you. And the organizers of the exhibition “Days of Games”, which will be held on the weekend of February 5-6 in the Third place, will help us with this.

This is a great event dedicated to virtual games, which will be interesting for both experienced gamers and those for whom this computer world remains unknown. For example, at the event you can remember your favorite childhood game and play Dandy. You will also find slot machines from the Museum of Soviet slot machines. To remember the ancestors of modern games, you will be offered to play wooden games from Picardiepark.

Also on the insert you can witness how real art is created by a robot from the company “Multi-Agent Systems”. And at the lecture you will be told about the integration of virtual and augmented reality technologies into urban and exhibition spaces.

You can register for the event using this link.
