The state prosecutor asked the First Eastern District Military Court to assign real terms to three schoolchildren from the city of Kansk (Krasnoyarsk Territory), accused of preparing for the explosions of police and special services buildings. It is reported by “Novaya Gazeta”
Young defendants face from 6.5 years in a correctional colony to 9 years in prison, as well as fines.
Three 14-year-old schoolchildren were charged in the summer of 2020 with creating a terrorist community for chatting with correspondence and plans to “blow up” the FSB building in the Minecraft computer game.
The special services believe that the teenagers were inspired by the example of the members of the organization “Network” banned in Russia and the bombers who staged terrorist attacks near the buildings of the FSB departments in Khabarovsk and Arkhangelsk. During the investigation, they were cleared of the charge of creating a terrorist community, but they are still charged with articles 205.3 (“Training for terrorist attacks”), 223.1 and 222.1 (“Illegal manufacture and possession of explosive devices”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
In the summer of 2021, teenagers were released from the pre-trial detention center, forbidden to leave their place of residence at night, communicate with each other and use the Internet.
