Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova hopes that the verdict of the district court of The Hague in the case of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing-777, which made flight MH17, will be delivered before the end of this year. This was reported on the website of the department.

According to her, this will be an important event both for the country and for the entire civilized world.

Recall, Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, on July 17, 2014 was shot down by a rocket from the ground in the sky of Donbass, killing 298 people. The defendants in the case are Russians Igor Girkin (Strelkov), Sergey Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and Ukrainian citizen Leonid Kharchenko.

The Russian side denies all accusations of involvement in the tragedy, which are put forward by Ukraine and the West.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia considers this case as a criminal one, and attempts to present it as a state case are unacceptable for Moscow. According to him, the Russian Foreign Ministry is closely following the trial. Lavrov is sure that any unbiased lawyer will immediately see that this is nothing more than a criminal case, in which there are many inconsistencies.

At the end of last year, the Dutch prosecutor’s office requested a life sentence for the accused.
