As noted, Musayeva also said that she did not refuse the help of lawyers provided by the “Committee against Torture”.

Recall that on January 20, employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya arrived in Nizhny Novgorod and took the woman to Grozny for interrogation. According to the Chechen authorities, Musaeva was taken to Grozny legally. She was arrested in Grozny for 15 days for “resisting the lawful demands of a police officer.”

Later, the woman was charged with using life-threatening and health-threatening violence against a police officer. The court arrested her for 2 months.

In turn, the head of the HRC, Valery Fadeev, turned to the chairman of the RF Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, with a request to take the case of Zarema Musaeva from Chechen investigators.

“The rhetoric on both sides has become extremely sharp, up to public statements by officials of the Chechen Republic with threats against the Yangulbaev family. In the current situation, the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case against Zarema Musaeva can be discredited and assessed by society as biased and biased,” he said.

Fadeev added that the transfer of the case to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the North Caucasus Federal District or to the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation could “neutralize this negative effect and significantly reduce the degree of tension.”
