A ‘mega minga’ will be held on Saturday in La Gasca and La Comuna, areas hit by the flood in Quito

After five days from the January 31 barrage that killed dozens of lives and infrastructure in the sectors of The Gasca and the Communenorth of Quito, on Saturday, February 5, a ‘mega minga‘ to move forward with the cleanup of the affected areas.

The town invited the public to collaborate with this initiative. The meeting point for people who wish to participate will be the America Avenue and Fray Antonio de MarchenaCentral University sector, at 08:00.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring shovels, brooms, dust pans, mask, sunscreen, sneakers or rubber boots.

In the cleaning tasks they will also support the municipal servants. Mayor Santiago Guarderas said that all the necessary contingent has been arranged to rehabilitate the sector.
