Two men were detained by police personnel after a chase that ended with a traffic accident in the Urdenor 1 citadel, in the north of Guayaquil.
Around 08:00, uniformed officers patrolling the area received the alert from ECU911 about a theft of a citizen’s cell phone in the area around the ditch and began tracking possible suspects based on the characteristics described by the complainant to the integrated service.
Minutes later, the gendarmes aboard a patrol car located two suspects and began a chase for several blocks, since they did not heed several requests to stop the motorcycle.
At the intersection of Ignacio Robles and Pasaje 8 streets, the motorcycle entered the road in the opposite direction and collided with the part of a private car while the patrol car collided with the front part of that same vehicle.
Despite this, the officers managed to arrest the suspects.
In the place, several residents recognized the antisocials as those responsible for assaulting people in the area.
The two suspects, a 15-year-old and a 20-year-old, were initially taken for a medical check-up to assess their health status. Then they were going to be taken to the Flagrancy Unit of the Model Barracks.
The evidence seized includes a motorcycle and a cell phone, (I)
