The measures against the German TV channel Deutsche Welle are groundless and complicate bilateral relations. This, according to TASS, was announced by the German Foreign Ministry.

They indicated that the German government has nothing to do with the situation around the RT DE television channel, and the same requirements are imposed on it as on others.

Earlier, the German State Minister for Culture and Media, Claudia Roth, suggested that the sanctions against Deutsche Welle are a response to the decision of the Commission for Licensing and Supervision of the Media of Germany to ban the broadcasting of the RT DE channel in Germany, however, she said that the situation around RT DE and Deutsche Welle cannot be compared.

Roth said RT DE broadcasts without a license and has not applied for permission. She noticed that at the same time, DW’s license was revoked in Russia.

Recall that in response to the ban on broadcasting of the RT DE TV channel in Germany, Moscow is closing the Deutsche Welle correspondent office in Russia and plans to cancel the accreditation of all employees of the Russian bureau of this media outlet. A procedure will also be initiated to consider the issue of recognizing DW as a foreign media outlet acting as a foreign agent.
