The Board of Judges of Chechnya terminated the resignation of Judge Saidi Yangulbaev, thus depriving him of immunity. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Now a criminal case may be opened against Yangulbaev.

Family members of the former federal judge criticized the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, for which they were later accused of aiding terrorism and received death threats, including from State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov.

Yangulbaev was also threatened by Kadyrov himself. According to him, the retired federal judge “failed to raise intelligent children, and instead of convicting them for extremist statements, he betrayed the judiciary, supported them and fled, hiding behind the status of a judge.” According to the leader of Chechnya, the Yangulbaevs “with their provocations and intrigues brought to naught” the efforts of the region’s authorities to destroy the terrorists.

The ex-judge fled, and his wife Zarema Musaeva was taken out of her house in Nizhny Novgorod under the pretext of interrogation in a criminal case and later placed in a special detention center in Grozny on charges of “petty hooliganism.” In addition, she is accused of using violence against a police officer in the police department. The kidnapped woman faces a prison term of 10 years.

Both sons of Zarema Musaeva have been prosecuted. Both men are outside Russia.

A rally of thousands of men who came to condemn the Yangulbaev family took place in Grozny the day before.
