The Grozny TV channel published a video in which relatives of the family of ex-judge Saydi Yangulbaev disown the judge and his family members.
According to the TV channel, repentance took place in front of a mosque in the village of Goity, where local residents and followers of Sheikh Kunta-Khadzhi Kishiev gathered. They expressed “strong indignation” at the insults to the sheikh and other saints (evliya) by the Yangulbaev family.
“Claims and curses against the Yangulbaev family are expressed primarily by representatives of their own kind. Each of them feels guilty and responsible for what happened. All those present, including relatives, declared revenge and enmity against Yangulbayev,” the channel said in a statement.
Among the participants in the repentance is the brother of Saidi Yangulbaev, who weeps during the speech. According to him, this is a shame for the whole family, for the whole family and society.
Family members of the former federal judge criticized the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, for which they were later accused of aiding terrorism and received death threats, including from State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov.
The ex-judge and his two sons fled, while his wife Zarema Musaeva was taken out of her home in Nizhny Novgorod under the pretext of interrogation in a criminal case and later placed in a special detention center in Grozny on charges of “petty hooliganism.” In addition, she is accused of using violence against a police officer in the police department. Both sons of Zarema Musaeva are also prosecuted.
A rally of thousands of men who came to condemn the Yangulbaev family took place in Grozny the day before. The reason was their statements to the revered local religious figures.
On Thursday, the board of judges of Chechnya terminated the resignation of judge Saidi Yangulbaev, thus depriving him of immunity. Now a criminal case may be opened against Yangulbaev.
