The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has proposed blocking websites with personal data of police officers and military personnel under state protection for 24 hours. This is reported in the draft resolution published on the Federal Portal of Draft Regulatory Legal Acts.

The document assumes that after the decision to block a site with data of persons under state protection, which is accepted by the FSO and the FSB, the appeal will be sent to Roskomnadzor, and it will already enter this resource into the Unified Register of Banned Sites within 24 hours, indicating at the same time about its owner. The data of persons under protection, including law enforcers and judges, will not be included in the record.

Also, according to the text of the document, prohibited information will need to be described for the convenience of its search and identification.

The proposed site blocking procedure was developed after the adoption of two laws – in December 2020 and July last year. One of them allowed to hide the data of employees of the military, as well as judicial and law enforcement agencies, including all their relatives. Another allowed Roskomnadzor to block websites with data on persons under state protection, at the same time expanding the list of these persons.
