The Gamaleya Center has introduced new side effects into the instructions for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This is reported by the Pharmaceutical Bulletin, adding that osteoarthritis and photophobia turned out to be “side effects”.
The relevant information was posted in January 2022 in the state register of medicines.
The likelihood of osteoarthritis is rated as “infrequent”. According to the WHO classification, a side effect may occur in one in 100 or 1000 people vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine. Photophobia, or photophobia, occurs with a similar probability.
The new instructions changed the frequency of occurrence of other “side effects” – nausea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal disorders, which are “very rare” – in one person per 10 thousand vaccinated. Rare side effects include nasal congestion, enlarged regional lymph nodes, headache, dizziness, and fainting.
The updated instructions also provide the final results of the effectiveness and immunogenicity of Sputnik V. The effectiveness of the vaccine is 70.5%, while before, according to the interim analysis, the indicator was estimated at 91%.
