The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday, the press service of the Chechen government reports. According to the press service, socio-economic issues were discussed at the meeting: the implementation of investment projects in Chechnya, the fight against coronavirus, the demographic situation and national projects.

At the same time, on the same day, a little earlier, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov claimed that such a meeting was not planned and he did not know anything about it. In addition, there is no information on the Kremlin website that it did take place.

As Novaya Gazeta notes, the press service of the administration of the Chechen Republic illustrated the information about the meeting with an archival photograph from 2017.

Recall that on February 2, a rally was held in the Chechen capital Grozny, the participants of which demanded that the family of the former judge of the Supreme Court Saydi Yangulbaev be held accountable for aiding terrorism and insulting the feelings of believers.

The family of former judge Yangulbaev has been in the public eye ever since his wife Zarema Musaeva was detained in Nizhny Novgorod and taken to Chechnya to testify in a loan fraud case. She will remain under arrest until April 1 for a scratch inflicted on a police officer during the execution of the protocol.

In addition, Adam Delimkhanov, a State Duma deputy from Chechnya, has recently been at the center of a scandal. According to Znak.com, he made a threatening statement on Instagram, in which he announced a “blood feud” against the Yangulbaevs and vowed to cut off their heads. Chechen officials and security forces joined his statement.
