Since 2010, the number of companies that hire employees who worked for competitors has grown by 16%, showed the results of a survey of the SuperJob service, which was attended by 1,000 employers from all districts of the country. According to service analysts, this is how the labor market is affected by the shortage of personnel provoked by the coronavirus pandemic and the demographic “pit” of the 90s.

Specialists who previously worked for competitors are hired without restrictions by most Russian companies — 72%. Such personnel are especially expected in the construction industry – 86%, in banks – 82%, in large businesses with a staff of more than a thousand people – 80%.

But IT companies and manufacturing enterprises are cautious in this matter: only every fourth employer in this area is ready to employ former employees of competitors.

“Only 3% of employers turn down candidates who have a line about working for competitors in their resumes. However, in the service sector and IT, this rule is followed more often, ”analysts say.
