If Russia really wants to attack Ukraine, it will lose. This opinion was expressed by the editor-in-chief of the radio station “Echo of Moscow” Alexei Venediktov.

“Because it will be crushed by such a territory, and such a people, and such a situation in which the whole world will consider it an occupier. It doesn’t matter what will happen there, ”Venediktov said on the air of the radio station. He added that in the end, Russia “will be forced to spew out Ukraine, which will hate it, as the Baltics hated the Soviet Union.”

“Russia does not need to enter the territory. Its goal is not Ukraine, its goal is relations with the United States of America, and, in general, probably with the NATO bloc,” Venediktov noted, explaining that this is “a matter of efficiency: to achieve our own security from the Americans and from NATO through war, or by blackmailing war, or by negotiation. “It doesn’t matter,” concluded Venediktov.

Recall that in November-December last year, the world media disseminated data on the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine and on the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the sanctions that should follow. The list of restrictions includes the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, sanctions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT international interbank settlement system.
