A 55-year-old resident of the Buzuluksky district of the Orenburg region became the victim of a fraudster – a false NATO general, to whom, having fallen in love with him, she gave over a million rubles taken on credit.
As follows from the message of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman turned to the police with a statement about the theft of funds, saying that from August 2021 to January 2022 she communicated by correspondence with a man who “introduced himself as a member of the NATO armed forces – a major general named Bern from Germany.
He misled her, assuring her that he was ready to move to Russia to live together, but asked to arrange loans for this.
“Having issued loans in various credit organizations in the city of Buzuluk from September to January for a total amount of 1 million 186 thousand 100 rubles, the woman transferred them to the “groom-general”, but, without waiting for his arrival, she realized that she had become a victim of a fraudster, and turned to police,” the statement said.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of fraud.
We also recall that earlier it became known that in Vsevolozhsk in the Leningrad Region, an elderly woman trusted the mysterious “Thomas” and transferred 1.4 million rubles to him.
