During the lockdown pandemic, UK residents have become more likely to masturbate and watch porn. The study was conducted by scientists at Bournemouth University, the work was published in the journal Sexual Medicine.

A few months after the start of the pandemic and the introduction of self-isolation and quarantines, researchers interviewed 565 Britons aged 18 to 32 years. A quarter of respondents admitted that after the lockdown they began to masturbate more often. Another 19.5% of respondents (mostly men) said that they began to watch porn more often during quarantine, and 8.5% began to use sex toys more often. And a third of those surveyed – and women are leading here – admitted that they had more sexual fantasies during the lockdowns. At the same time, only 14% of Britons sought to replace sex with watching porn, the rest watched porn “out of boredom”.

Recall that earlier experts in different countries predicted a surge in the birth rate nine months after the start of the pandemic – they believed that during the lockdown, people would start having sex more often. However, there was no surge in the birth rate; on the contrary, the birth rate declined, as did the number of new cases of venereal diseases. But there are more divorces.
