According to the Police of that canton, a femicide was avoided.
Segundo G., 39, was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Durán after firing shots inside his partner’s house. It happened in the El Edén sector, in El Recreo.
According to Jorge Hadaty, police chief of Durán, the units received a shot alert in that sector and, when they arrived, they saw the suspect fleeing on a motorcycle.
The man was arrested by officers. When searching him, a revolver was found with four bullets in the drum, three of them already struck (fired).
Hadaty assures that the uniformed officers prevented a femicide from being committed and that in the house of the attacked woman there was another person who could also end up injured.
“The woman said that he (Segundo G.) arrived with liquor on his breath and a fight broke out,” said the police officer.
The detainee has a record in 2003 for injuries and a fight. He was taken to the Durán Prosecutor’s Office along with the evidence and the prosecutor on duty was notified. (I)
