Two rural houses of culture near Novosibirsk – in the settlements of Michurinsky and Elitny of the Novosibirsk region – were forced to stop working in January.
The decision is related to the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, signed on May 7, 2012, according to which the salary of cultural workers was to increase by 2018 to the average for the region, Taiga.Info reports.
“In fact, it turns out that the average salary of cultural workers on the territory of the Michurinsky village council does not correspond to the average in the region, but is brought to the level of 88.5% of the average monthly income from labor activity, moreover, by reducing the staff, including those providing security for cultural institutions,” – said in a published statement by the director of the institution, Olga Maltseva.
Nine years have passed since the adoption of Putin’s “May decrees”, all of them were to be implemented by 2020. But back in 2015, the federal authorities artificially lowered the bar in order to formally fulfill their promises, according to estimates from the Uchitel trade union.
