“Not dressed and not shod, in a terrible state”: the Rise publication published a new video with the detention of Zarema Musayeva in Nizhny Novgorod

THIS MESSAGE (MATERIAL) IS CREATED AND (OR) DISTRIBUTED BY A FOREIGN MASS MEDIA PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT AND (OR) A RUSSIAN LEGAL ENTITY PERFORMING THE FUNCTIONS OF A FOREIGN AGENT.

The Rise publication published new footage of the so-called detention of the wife of the former judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya, Saydi Yangulbaev, Zarema Musaeva, from an apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. Recordings from CCTV cameras were provided to journalists by human rights activists from the “Committee against Torture” (in 2015, it was recognized by the Ministry of Justice as an NPO acting as a foreign agent, after which the legal entity self-liquidated. In 2016, the CPT was also recognized as a foreign agent, after which human rights activists began to operate under the same name, but without forming a legal entity).

The footage shows how the woman is dragged into the elevator, how they are taken out of it and out of the entrance. It is also seen how Musayeva is being dragged out of the apartment.

“It is clearly seen that she is not dressed and not shod, in a terrible state,” the publication notes.

The other day, human rights activists also published video footage in which two men led a woman by the arms to an approaching car. She walks on asphalt and snow in black tights. After a short hitch, Musayeva is put into the back seat of a car whose license plates are not visible and taken away.

Meanwhile, the Russians are collecting signatures for a petition demanding the release of Zarema Musayeva. More than 78,000 people have already signed the petition on Change.org.

“We demand that the Russian authorities release Zarema to provide her with medical assistance, as well as provide her family and human rights activists with information about her whereabouts and well-being,” the statement said.

Recall that the woman was forcibly taken away from Nizhny Novgorod to Grozny on January 20. According to the Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information of the Republic, Akhmed Dudayev, Musayeva was detained for insulting a law enforcement officer, and is also in the status of a witness in a fraud case.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, considered the actions of the security forces legal.
