According to the Russian embassy, about 370 tourists from Russia got stuck in Istanbul due to snowfall. These are only those who turned to diplomats for help. About a hundred tourists marched in a column through the airport’s waiting room, chanting “We need a hotel.” In response, the Turkish authorities sent security officials to the airport. Ali Kıdık, member of the Good Party of the IMM Assembly, said on social media: “Special police forces were called in so that the protests at the Istanbul airport would not lead to outrage.”
