A man identified in the attempted robbery of a motorcycle was beaten. The case was registered this Wednesday, after 1:00 p.m., in the 6 de Enero sector of the La Libertad canton.
According to witnesses, the individual asked the motorcyclist for a ride and, once on 6th Avenue, between 38th and 40th streets of the aforementioned site, he decided to commit the crime to take the car, without imagining that the victim would put up resistance and that, in addition, the residents would be aware and willing to act to avoid the robbery.
A chase broke out in the area that ended meters ahead with a bad experience for the suspect, who was later arrested by agents of the National Police.
In videos broadcast on social networks, a group of citizens can be seen dealing a series of blows to the alleged criminal. One of them even used a machete to wound the person involved in the robbery in the abdominal area.
The suspect, a Venezuelan national, was identified as Freibe RA, 28 years old.
Among the evidence seized by the authorities is a firearm, which would have been detonated without leaving anyone injured, according to some residents, who stated that they decided to act in the face of the constant cases of robberies that are recorded in that town in the province of Santa Elena.
