One person was arrested when 119.2 kilos of drugs were found in the truck in which he was traveling. The arrest took place last Tuesday night on Los Colonos Avenue, in the center of the city of Santo Domingo.
This operation called Lightning 78, according to Pablo Ramírez, commander of Zone 4 of the Police, allowed the detection of 108 rectangular-shaped packages covered with packing tape that contained cocaine hydrochloride and were camouflaged in a hidden compartment of the heavy vehicle.

According to the Police, the driver of the car assumed an evasive attitude when asking him to stop the march for the respective revision of the car. “This police operation allowed the National Police to dismantle the operative arm of a narco-criminal organization dedicated to the transport of considerable quantities of drugs for their subsequent shipment to international consumer markets, using conditioned vehicles with hidden compartments, to evade police controls and reach to their final destination, ”said Ramírez.
