In Ukraine, they refused to make any compromises with Russia. Kiev “will not allow concessions to be imposed on anyone,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with CNN.

He stressed that amid fears of a “Russian invasion”, Ukraine would not agree to compromises to appease Russian President Vladimir Putin. “If someone makes concessions regarding Ukraine, behind Ukraine’s back, firstly, we will not accept this,” the minister stressed.

He added that Ukraine “will not be in the position of a country that picks up the phone, listens to the direction of a major power and follows it.” According to Kuleba, the country has already paid a lot, including 15,000 lives of its citizens, for the right to decide its own future.

Kuleba added that he had no doubts about the commitment of the United States to the defense of Ukraine. He also called “premature” the plans of the United States to reduce the size of its embassy in Kiev. The evacuation, he said, “sows panic” and plays into the hands of Putin.

Recall that recently in the information field, assumptions have been made about a possible “invasion” of Russia into the territory of Ukraine. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, stated that the Russian authorities allegedly concentrated more than 92 thousand military personnel near the borders of Ukraine and were planning an attack in late January or early February 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called such statements “alarmist”.
