The Ukrainian authorities are considering the possibility of inflicting “pinpoint strikes” on the enemy in the event of an invasion by Russian troops. Aleksey Danilov, head of the National Security and Defense Council, warned about this.
According to him, although the Ukrainian army may be weaker than the Russian one, this does not mean a refusal to fight.
“Moreover, we have something that is not in Russia,” Danilov said, BBC reports.
In particular, the head of the National Security and Defense Council noted, Kiev can count on the support of Western allies.
At the same time, he believes that, in general, the situation near the borders of Ukraine is under control and there are no reasons for panic. Danilov also expressed the opinion that the main goal of the Kremlin now is to “undermine the internal situation.”
Earlier, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation Oleksandr Pavlyuk said that Russia could attack from several directions and capture eight regions of Ukraine. The general also named the expected date of the “invasion” – February 20, when the Olympics will end in Beijing, and Belarus will complete joint military exercises with the Russian Federation on the border with Ukraine.
