As of this Monday, January 24, the ticket on the buses of the company Servicios Múltiples 15 de Agosto, Serviagosto SA, rises to $0.35. The operator obtained the authorization of the Municipality of Quito, once the units complied with the quality parameters and indices, contemplated in the Metropolitan Ordinance 017-2020.
The Ministry of Mobility reported that the process of monitoring and verifying the service provided by the operator will continue, in order to maintain quality, as determined by the Indicators Manual and through resolution SM-2022-0024.
During the act that formalized the decision of the Municipality, Daniel Vivar, director of Management of the Secretariat, highlighted the importance of advancing in the processes of improving the quality of the public transport service.
Johanna Romero, general manager of Serviagosto, which is part of the Corredor Suroccidental consortium, pointed out that the process was transparent and reiterated the commitment to provide an efficient service to users.
To receive the approval of the council, the urban transport units had to incorporate technology, such as the global positioning system (GPS), which allows the Ministry of Mobility to monitor compliance with schedules, intervals, capacity, among other aspects, he said. Rosemary.

Other operators authorized to charge a ticket of $0.35
Since April 2021, the Quito Mobility Secretariat has approved that thirteen companies, including Serviagosto, increase the transportation rate to $0.35, with a ticket of $0.17 for minors and vulnerable groups.

Vivar indicated that the Secretariat’s inspection team will intensify the controls and monitoring of the operation of the companies that are allowed to charge a higher ticket. (I)
