In Mataje they arrest the brother of alias ‘Guacho’ for carrying weapons

Juan Gabriel AV was on a motorcycle with another man and they were carrying two firearms.

A close relative of Walter Arízala, alias Guacho, leader of the Oliver Sinisterra front, was arrested over the weekend along with another person for alleged possession and illegal carrying of weapons.

The arrest was made on Sunday, January 23, by police officers from the Special Mobilized Anti-Narcotics Group (GEMA), in the La Cadena sector, in Mataje, on the northern border of Esmeraldas.

The detainees of Colombian nationality are Juan Gabriel AV (brother of a Guacho) y Wilfer C. U.

The arrest occurred because the agents noticed the evasive attitude of the men who were on a motorcycle.

During the police search they found in their possession two 9 mm caliber pistol-type firearms, with 17 unpercussed cartridges.

In addition, the motorcycle on which they were riding and the weapons were handed over to the San Lorenzo Prosecutor’s Office for preliminary investigation.

Agents collate data to verify the relationship of the detainee with Walter Arízala, who headed the Oliver Sinisterra criminal group, the syndicated organization in the terrorist attack on the San Lorenzo police station, kidnapping and murder of three members of the El Comercio group and other crimes in the 2018.

The Subzone 8 Police also reported the arrest of four citizens (two of them teenagers), for carrying weapons, in the San Rafael and La Cananga entrance sectors, in the Esmeraldeña capital.

He was arrested in Colombia

Juan Gabriel AV, alias Javier, was arrested in June 2018 in Colombian territory, as he had an arrest warrant against him for the crime of aggravated conspiracy and was required by the specialized Prosecutor’s Office 12 and the Tumaco Sectional Prosecutor’s Office 30, a municipality bordering the province of Esmeraldas .

According to investigations by the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office, alias Javier he had under his command 150 armed men who were part of said criminal structure dedicated to micro-trafficking, extortion, homicide and kidnapping. (l)
