Due to the situation with the coronavirus, the Russian Orthodox Church has decided to transfer all public events in Moscow churches and monasteries online.
Alexander Volkov, chairman of the Information Commission of the Moscow Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, told TASS that control over the observance of preventive sanitary measures in the capital’s churches has been strengthened due to a significant increase in the incidence of coronavirus.
“The necessary clarifying instructions have been sent out by the first vicar of His Holiness Patriarch Metropolitan Dionysius, which contain an order on the need for detailed implementation of all established measures related to restrictions, including monitoring employees in terms of their state of health,” he said. According to him, it is also proposed to transfer any other classes and meetings in temples to an online format.
Recall that the other day, due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin called for the transfer of the maximum number of employees to remote work, and also extended the self-isolation regime for the elderly. According to him, “omicron” is actively spreading in the capital.
