In Krasnodar, a record height of snow cover was recorded – due to the “anomalous” amount of precipitation, “unprecedented snowdrifts formed in the Kuban,” Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the FOBOS weather center, reports on his Instagram page.

“Over the past day, an abnormal amount of precipitation has been recorded in the Kuban, in a number of places it has reached almost the entire monthly norm,” the expert said.

According to him, “as a result of such heavy precipitation in Krasnodar, a snow cover record was set in the entire history of meteorological observations – 41 cm (the previous maximum was 40 cm)”, besides, “the entire Black Sea coast of the Caucasus fell asleep.”

In the meantime, Interfax notes, Krasnodar airport remains temporarily closed – “until 15:00 Moscow time” – due to snowfall.

We also recall that on the eve of heavy snowfall in the Russian capital, snowdrifts grew from 38 to 45 cm in a day.

We add that the auto expert Igor Boyarsky gave some advice on how to get the car out of the snowdrift.
