Doctors in Iran were very surprised when they found no serious illness in an 87-year-old resident of an Iranian village who had not washed for more than 65 years, according to the Daily Star.

According to the publication, Amu Haji refused to wash for 67 years out of fear of being unhappy or killed. He lives in a small hut, eats mostly raw meat of porcupines that died under the wheels, drinks rainwater. His favorite pastime is smoking a pipe stuffed with animal manure.

Due to the unusual lifestyle, the man failed to make friends and family. Despite this, the locals gave him a hut as a gift. Previously, a man’s house was a pit.

The doctors decided to visit the Iranian and check how the lack of hygiene and non-standard diet affected his health. During the examination, the doctors were surprised to find out that Hadji managed to avoid serious illnesses. The only thing that bothered the Iranian was trichinosis (a parasitic disease accompanied by fever, swelling, rash and damage to internal organs).

Recall also that earlier dermatologist Irina Skorogudaeva warned that a person can develop cancer from washing hands too often. According to the doctor, soap is an aggressive environment for the skin, which erodes the lipid barrier that protects it from damage and the penetration of dangerous elements into the body. After that, the skin begins to pass fluid with compounds undesirable for the body.
