A 27-year-old man was murdered in the neighborhood of El Carmen, Manabí

The man received multiple gunshot wounds, according to shots heard by neighbors. With this victim, the number of violent deaths in this canton rises to 3.

El Carmen, Manabi.

Carlos Quiñónez Figueroa, 27, was killed by several bullet wounds near his home, in the Jesús del Gran Poder neighborhood. This fact was recorded, according to the Police, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday, January 21.

The ECU-911 alerted of the emergency, so the uniformed officers arrived to carry out the first steps. The residents of the sector stated that eight detonations were heard, in the middle of the rain that was recorded that night.

According to witnesses, the victim was in a dark alley in the neighborhood when he was shot. For this reason, according to some neighbors, they did not manage to see the author of the detonations who would have escaped on a motorcycle.

The relatives were alerted to what had happened and, surprised, shouted what had happened to the neighbors who approached the young man, who according to the Police had a criminal record for robbery.

Amid the heartbreaking screams of the relatives of the “little black”, as they called him, the Police and the rescuers from the Fire Department arrived. At the site, the uniformed officers verified that Quiñónez had no vital signs.

Dinased agents carried out the removal of the body, which was transferred to the forensic center in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.

With this murder they rise to three violent deaths so far this year, in the Manabi canton of El Carmen. (I)
