In one of the accidents that occurred this Saturday morning, one of the vehicles involved began to catch fire, but was immediately controlled.
Two people deceased and two injured left two accidents that occurred this Saturday morning in the General Rumiñahui highway, southeast of Quito; and on Mariscal Sucre and Rumihurco avenues, south of the capital. For both road mishaps, teams from the Quito Fire Department and the Metropolitan Traffic Agency were deployed.
In the first incident reported around 08:00 on Mariscal Sucre Avenue, a red car that crashed into a utility pole. The two people who were injured were traveling in the car. The reasons for the impact are not known at this time.

The force with which this collision occurred produced a deformation in the car body that trapped the driver. Special machinery and several firefighters were necessary to extract the wounded man from the twisted iron. Those affected after being stabilized were taken to a nearby health home, the car was directed to the retention yards and work is being done to secure the lighting pole that received the blow.
On the other hand, the second accident that did leave deaths occurred shortly before 10:00 at the height of the bridge 7 of the General Rumiñahui highway, road artery that joins Quito to the southeast with the Los Chillos Valley. Video surveillance cameras of the integrated system of the ECU – 911 registered great traffic congestion due to the collision between a truck and a motorcycle.
