Residents of the village of Domna (Trans-Baikal Territory), where stray dogs killed a seven-year-old girl, gathered for a spontaneous gathering near the building of the local administration. This is reported by the news agency “Chita. ru” with reference to the messages of local residents.
The investigation team, which went to the scene of the tragedy, is headed by the head of the regional investigation department, Yuri Rusanov, reports the Teacher’s Newspaper. The investigation of the criminal case was entrusted to the first department for the investigation of especially important cases, the governor of Transbaikalia Alexander Osipov ordered to investigate the causes of the tragedy.
The villagers, who have repeatedly complained about the dominance of stray dogs and called every exit to the street “a game of Russian roulette”, are now afraid to let their children go. The Trans-Baikal village of Domna is not the only settlement in Russia where stray dogs literally terrorize the inhabitants. Before the New Year in Yakutsk, stray dogs killed a woman teacher, which forced them to tackle this problem at the city level and create special teams to catch dangerous animals.
