The peak incidence of coronavirus in Russia may be registered in mid-February. At the same time, in Moscow, the maximum daily incidence rates can be reached earlier, says virologist Yevgeny Timakov.

According to him, TASS reports, Omicron, which is actively distributed in the Russian Federation, has an average incubation period of two to three days, with a maximum of seven days. The peak incidence will be in the fourth incubation period.

“In Moscow, it will be in late January – early February, since it was the first to enter this process. We will see the general peak in Russia with you a little stretched and blurry, it will be in mid-February, because each region is included in this process separately, ”the doctor predicted, warning that the real number of cases is even higher than in official data. The doctor explained that people with mild symptoms often do not get tested, so there is no complete picture of the incidence.

Recall that in the Russian Federation, the daily incidence of covid has set a new anti-record – 49,513 cases. In Moscow, coronavirus was detected in 15987 people. This is the highest value for the entire period of the pandemic.
