Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov admits that the date of the announcement of the annual message of the head of state to the Federal Assembly can be shifted “by a couple of weeks” if the situation with the spread of the new strain of coronavirus “omicron” becomes more complicated. He stated this to reporters today, answering a question from TASS.
As Peskov emphasized, the authorities “have already learned to take the measures prescribed by Rospotrebnadzor when holding such events,” as, for example, it was in December last year at a big press conference of President Vladimir Putin.
“We will take into account at what level is the crest of this next wave (pandemics – ed.). If these are peak values, then, perhaps, it would make sense to wait for some time (with the announcement of the message – ed.), A couple of weeks, ”said the spokesman.
Recall also that at the end of December, Peskov said that Putin would address the annual address to the Federal Assembly in early 2022, and preparations for the announcement of the message “began conceptually.”
At the same time, we add that the president announced the message-2021 on April 21.
