New life needs to be breathed into the Normandy Format. So say the foreign ministers of Germany and France, Annalena Burbock and Jean-Yves Le Drian.

During joint talks, they agreed to intensify negotiations in the Normandy format as part of diplomatic efforts to resolve the tense situation around Ukraine and Russia.

According to Burbock, “Normandy Format is one of the four very important lines of dialogue that are used today and that are available today.” “Together with France, I personally and personally Jean-Yves Le Drian will do everything possible to breathe new life into this format. Jean-Yves and I will explore the freedom of action that this format opens up,” Burbock promised, stressing that she would soon visit Ukraine together with the French Foreign Minister.

Earlier, Burbock discussed the Normandy format with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four countries may take place before the end of January, it was noted in Kiev the day before.
