A petition has appeared on the Change.org platform demanding to legally ban the installation of cell towers and to dismantle those already installed near residential buildings and socially significant infrastructure in St. Petersburg.

“Cellular communication masts are currently being erected randomly, including near residential buildings, kindergartens, schools and playgrounds. Numerous attempts to draw the attention of executive authorities to the inadmissibility of such proximity of a cell tower to walking areas and mass recreation of children lead to general bureaucratic replies and references to the existing simplified procedure for permits for the installation of antenna-mast structures, without approvals and public hearings, ”he is outraged the author of the appeal.

“We demand at the legislative level to ban the chaotic installation of cell towers and dismantle those that are already installed near residential buildings, schools and playgrounds,” the petition also says.
