The number of people infected with coronavirus in Moscow over the past day increased by 11,557 people, which is 2,762 more than yesterday. The operational headquarters noted that this indicator of daily incidence is a record for the entire period of the pandemic. The day before, 8,795 cases of covid infection were confirmed in the capital.
At the same time, the authorities note that, despite the increase in the incidence, the level of hospitalizations in Moscow has not changed much. So, 930 people were hospitalized per day, 489 patients are on mechanical ventilation.
In addition, 70 more deaths from covid were registered in the city.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has previously warned that Muscovites will have to endure several difficult weeks due to the situation with the spread of a new strain of coronavirus “omicron”.
In this regard, the capital extended the home regime for people over the age of 60 and chronically ill citizens until April 1. Until the same date, the requirement for employers to transfer at least 30% of employees to remote work is extended.
