A suspect of having participated in the robbery of a food store in Samanes, in which a policeman and an antisocial died, was arrested after operations.

The raids that allowed the capture of the suspect took place in the north of Guayaquil, hours after the confrontation in which a police officer repelled the alleged criminals.
Witness accounts indicate that police officer Freddy Daniel Laaz Vélez, who was in civilian clothes when the incident occurred at the restaurant, tried to prevent the robbery. During the confrontation, the uniformed man was wounded, as was one of the antisocials.
The deceased police officer was 39 years old and belonged to the GEMA anti-narcotics unit. He had 19 years in the entity and gave security to an official of the Judiciary. Apparently, a chest wound caused his death, despite the fact that he was taken to the Police hospital.
In a statement, the Police added that they will not rest until they find those responsible for this criminal act.

This is the second robbery in which a policeman tries to stop the action of criminals. Over the weekend, a suspected antisocial was killed by a police officer during a robbery at a restaurant in Cotocollao, north of Quito.
Preliminary versions indicate that two armed individuals entered the establishment to rob the establishment and subdued the clients.
