In St. Petersburg, the healthcare system is being rebuilt against the backdrop of records in the incidence of coronavirus. Vice Governor Oleg Ergashev told journalists about this.
According to him, the increase in indicators is associated with the spread of a new strain of “omicron”. The infection spread rate was more than two.
“The situation marks not just another rise. That is, if over the past weeks we have been sick from 2 to 2.5 thousand people a day, then in recent days a huge increase in the incidence has been recorded. It can be called explosive, vertical. That is, this suggests that in St. Petersburg, after Moscow, the strain “omicron” appeared. If yesterday we could talk about a weekly growth of 109%, today we are talking about a 147% incidence,” Ergashev said.
Hospitalization rates are increasing to a lesser extent. Over the past day, the increase was 4%, and as of January 19 – 2.1%. The number of outpatients last week was 22 thousand people, the day before – 25 thousand, and on January 19 – 27 thousand.
“If earlier we said that one person infects from seven to nine people, then in the new conditions it will be in the tens and maybe up to a hundred people,” the vice governor added, noting that the main load affected the primary and outpatient link.
In Smolny, they plan to increase the number of medicines, pulse oximeters, attract new medical personnel at the expense of students, and deploy additional ambulance teams.
Recall that over the past day in the Northern capital set an absolute record for the incidence of coronavirus. Another 4,382 people became infected.
