Znak.com: In the morgues of the Kuban, because of corruption and competition, they mock the bodies of the dead

Funeral homes and morgues of the Krasnodar Territory, for the sake of profit, are even ready to mock the bodies of the dead, including not putting them in the refrigerator or handing them out to relatives mutilated.

As stated in the Znak.com material, the usual delivery of a corpse to the morgue is accompanied by big problems and can drag on for a week. Thus, the relatives of the deceased are actually put in a hopeless situation, forcing them to choose a specific ritual organization that cooperates with the mortuary, threatening them with problems. There are examples when third-party merchants manage to hand over the body to the morgue only 10-12 days after the death of a person.

It is not uncommon for an affiliated firm to be located in the mortuary building and receive almost all orders. These companies drive up prices. In Novorossiysk, only one delivery to the morgue costs from 3 thousand rubles, in Krasnodar – from 6.5 thousand rubles. To wash and dress a person – at least another 10.5 thousand rubles, coffins – from 8 thousand rubles.

As stated in the material, privileged funeral services not only inflate prices, but also try to interfere with competitors in the most cynical ways. So, one of the market participants, Sergey Dreiling, claims that “the orderlies in the morgue can pump the body I brought with liquids so that a person will no longer look like a person.” “Pour boiling water into the abdominal cavity or the skull, from which the body comes to a terrifying state,” says Dreiling.

Sometimes the mutilated corpses were not placed in the refrigerator, and then the decomposing naked bodies in rags were given out to families – so they wanted to force people to pay the “necessary” agencies.

In the fall of 2021, in the Timashevsk regional center, ritual agent Roman Pikalo, out of desperation, brought the body of a woman wrapped in a sheet to the administration building. Morgue did not want to accept him for several days, demanding money for a service that is technically free. Kneeling with outstretched arms, Pikalo called out to higher powers. At that time, representatives of other funeral organizations turned out to be nearby, who threatened the authorities to arrange a real performance and lay out other bodies near the city hall, which also did not accept the mortuary. The situation was covered in a show with Andrey Malakhov on the Russia 1 TV channel, and after that the chief forensic expert was removed from his post. However, a criminal case was opened against Roman himself for desecrating the body of the deceased.

In December, another broadcast of Malakhov’s show took place, where the participants talked about the fact that the bodies of dead people in morgues are weighed and invoiced to relatives depending on body weight.

In December, it became known that Alexander Kirillov, the son of a woman whom Pikalo brought on a stretcher to the administration, died suddenly under mysterious circumstances. He participated in Malakhov’s first program, said that he received money from a company affiliated with the morgue for writing a statement on Pikalo, and soon he was found dead on the street.

The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, showed interest in the problem only after the release of Andrey Malakhov’s programs. Moscow has instructed Kuban investigators to investigate what is really going on in the region. But there are still no criminal cases and arrests.
