Police arrest suspect in the murder of a Colombian woman; the crime occurred in Guayaquil

Apprehension of the implicated occurred in the center of Quito. The victim’s body was in a house with several stab wounds, the Police detailed.

The early morning of this Wednesday the lawyer Gabriel JE was arrested in a hotel in the center of Quito for his alleged connection with the death of a Colombian woman.

The suspect had an arrest warrant for investigative purposes issued by Judge Ruth Quevedo in the investigation opened for the murder of the foreigner Janeth Henao, 34, whose body was discovered last Saturday in the suspect’s house, located in the citadel Alamos North.

The woman, who was a sex worker, was stabbed at dawn the previous Thursday, after the suspect allegedly picked her up from her workplace.

The lawyer, who has a criminal record, was captured after several days of surveillance and at 09:00 the Police confirmed that he was being transferred to Guayaquil and that he would arrive at the Judicial Police to legalize his detention.

In the next few hours, Gabriel JE would be held at the Public Prosecutor’s Office. (I)
