Zhirinovsky: “We need to radically solve the problem so that Russia remains the only superpower”

LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky believes that Russia has a “great chance” to remain the only superpower in the unfolding confrontation with the West, a Rosbalt correspondent reports.

“Now we have a historic moment when we must win against the West,” Zhirinovsky said, speaking at a meeting of the State Duma.

According to him, it will not be enough if the Russian leadership manages to stop the expansion of NATO to the East.

“It will not change anything. We need to radically resolve the issue,” Zhirinovsky said.

“We must demand the complete dissolution of NATO as a military-political bloc, completely remove foreign troops from any European country … Nuclear weapons, except for Russia, must be destroyed on the European continent. All sanctions must be lifted at once, not piece by piece. Russia should have western borders the same as those of the USSR on January 1, 1990 – only in this way if the question grows, ”said the deputy.

Zhirinovsky is confident that the West will refuse to comply with these demands. “Then we must use our advantage in the military-technical field – without this we will not succeed. We need to radically solve the problem so that only Russia remains among several superpowers. The world will not pull on three.

“Now we can do it, a great chance is the weapon that only we have so far, so we need to put an end to the fact that someone could threaten us,” the LDPR leader said.

Zhirinovsky is convinced that the West “will get scared and retreat.” “They are afraid of a big war, because they never fought: the American army never went on the offensive, they did not take Berlin, and the French were defeated under Napoleon, the Germans under Hitler – there is no one to fight,” Zhirinovsky argued his position.

“The Americans are brazen. It is necessary to explain to them harshly and they will begin to retreat, otherwise we must arrange for them to flee as if from Afghanistan, but here we will catch up with them. For Russia’s victory in a new war!” Zhirinovsky said.
