The Ministry of Digital Transformation (Mintsifry) of Ukraine claims to have “evidence” of Russia’s involvement in recent hacker attacks on state and non-profit Ukrainian organizations.
“To date, it can be said that all the evidence points to the fact that Russia is behind the cyber attack,” the ministry said.
Recall, on January 14, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced a hacker attack on a number of government websites, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education. The SBU claimed that hackers published provocative messages on the main page of the hacked sites. Leakage of personal data, according to preliminary information, did not occur.
The Ministry of Digital Development believes that the purpose of cyberattacks was the desire to “intimidate society” and “destabilize the situation in Ukraine.”
Meanwhile, earlier, in an interview with CNN, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov denied involvement in hacker attacks on state resources of Ukraine. “We saw these messages (suspicions against Russia sounded almost immediately after the attacks – ed.). We have nothing to do with this,” he assured.
