Azeri Daily: French Rafale fighter jets jammed and “shot down” Russian Su-35s

January turned out to be “black” for Russian arms exporters – Egypt, Algeria and Indonesia refused to purchase the “last word” of the Russian aircraft industry – Su-35 fighters. And although, according to the official version, sanctions against Russia became the main reason for this decision, after some time it turned out that it was not only about them, reports Haqqin.az.

As the portal notes, the sudden rise in price became the stumbling block, but the main thing is the technical lag of Russian fighters from their foreign counterparts, including the inability to install a radar station (RLS) with an active phased antenna array (AFAR) and advanced avionics, which were previously imported from a number of European countries and Israel.

So, comparative exercises were held in Cairo – conditional battles between the Su-35 and the French Rafale. Moreover, Russian fighters acted as an aggressor. But Rafale, with the help of airborne radars, easily jammed the electronics of the Su-35, after which they were “shot down”.

As a result, Cairo decided that it was better to purchase products from the French aviation industry, and in Indonesia, for similar reasons, they plan to purchase both Rafale and American F-15 EX. In Algeria, they are going to take a more sparing path for Russian exporters: to upgrade the Russian Su-30MKA in service with it to the level of 4 ++, which will cost 60% less than acquiring the Su-35.
