Through a public address system, bathers were alerted to the need to clear the Salinas beach, due to the suspension of maritime activities in the country due to a possible tsunami alert on the Ecuadorian coast, on the afternoon of this Saturday 15.
Municipal staff together with the local Fire Department toured Malecón Avenue to give recommendations to tourists who were in the area.
The staff of the Port Authority, the Armed Forces and other entities comply with the route once the suspension of activities on the beaches was ordered.
In the canton of La Libertad, access to the beaches and the boardwalk was closed at 2:00 p.m. Municipal staff carried out the respective monitoring so that citizens complied with the provision.

In Santa Elena, the Municipality also ordered the withdrawal of bathers and the suspension of water sports activities. Fishermen were urged to secure their boats.
