Employees of the Agency for Financial Monitoring of Kazakhstan detained the former Vice Minister of Energy Zhumabay Karagaev. Previously, he was removed from office by a government decision.
According to the press center of the agency, Karagaev was detained, as well as the heads of electronic trading platforms and “persons involved in the unreasonable increase in prices for liquefied petroleum gas in the Mangistau region.”
Karagaev was arrested for a period of two months.
