St. Petersburg 29-year-old former FSB officer Ilya Kirsanov, who was serving a sentence for torture, was released early on parole (PARO). The man served a little more than two years in prison instead of four. Fontanka.ru writes about this.
In September 2019, the Vyborg garrison military court sentenced Kirsanov to four years in a penal colony for violent acts against businessman Igor Salikov. According to the publication, during the search, Kirsanov stuck the barrel of the Tiger hunting carbine into his anus.
The search was interrupted because Salikov was urgently taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent several operations. The man spent several months in the hospital and received a disability. The security forces had a principled position: they believed that the businessman took and mutilated himself.
Kirsanov filed a request for parole in September 2021, his request was protested by the victim. However, the day before, the judge of the Kirov region released the former operative of the St. Petersburg FSB ahead of schedule.
