Massive power outages occurred in a number of Russian regions

Due to the storm wind in the Astrakhan, Rostov, Smolensk, Volgograd regions and in the Republic of Kalmykia, massive power outages occurred.

According to power engineers, in the Astrakhan region, the stormy wind was accompanied by rain, which brought numerous destructions: trees and elements of stationary structures fall. In places there was a power outage. The Volga, Narimanov, Ikryaninsky and Krasnoyarsk regions suffered more than others.

In the Rostov region, the main destruction occurred in the Zernogradsky, Dubovsky, Zimovnikovsky, Yegorlyksky, Volgodonsky and Peschanokopsky districts.

In the Volgograd region, the main damage was in Alekseevsky, Danilovsky, Zhirnovsky, Kikvidzensky, Kotovsky, Nekhaevsky, Olkhovsky, Uryupinsky, Novoanninsky, Novonikolaevsky districts. Recovery is complicated by snow drifts and storm winds with gusts of up to 30 meters per second.

Several villages in the Smolensk region were also left without electricity: Zarubinki, Bolshaya Dubrovka, Sipachi, Grechishino, Prigorskoye, Kisloye, Borovaya and nearby settlements.

In Kalmykia, problems with power supply arose in the Sarpinsky, Tselinny, Ketchenerovsky districts, as well as in Elista.
