Elite units of the National Police and the Armed Forces will reinforce the security of the province of Esmeraldas.
The Minister of Government, Alexandra Vela, and the Commander of the Police, Tannya Varela, made the announcement during a visit to the Esmeraldas Subzone 8 command.
The announcement of this measure comes after a meeting of the security table in the ECU911 with neighborhood leaders and merchants from the capital of Esmeralda, who held a march on Wednesday of this week demanding measures to restore security in that province.
