Various units of the National Police carried out an operation at the Ambato Social Rehabilitation Center (CRSA), on the afternoon of this Thursday the 13th.

During the search, the uniformed officers found several objects whose possession is prohibited inside said penitentiary.

Santiago Gaibor, deputy chief of the Ambato Sur district of the National Police, indicated that thirteen mobile terminals, cell phones, cell phone batteries, two chargers, four watches, two necklaces, twelve UCV cables, four headphones, three speakers, and a laptop were seized.

In addition to eight sharp objects, three handmade pipes, three matchboxes, a music mixing console and a plastic cover with a whitish substance, presumably cocaine base paste.

After a shooting in the Penitentiary, an operation was carried out and prohibited objects were seized

Gaibor indicated that in each operation they find objects that are prohibited inside the prison. Given this, he said, the intelligence units are in permanent work.

He commented that inside the cells there are coves where people deprived of their liberty hide the artifacts that are not allowed.

Gaibor maintained that these surprise searches by the National Police will continue. He indicated that they try to avoid violent acts in this prison. (I)
